Who is LLC?
Could be you! Classes and alumni come from large, medium and small businesses, non-profit agencies, high schools (youth program) and other community organizations. They also join the program as individuals.
Alumni of LLC join boards of directors, run for government office, become student council leaders, and take on progressive leadership roles in business. They also champion important community causes, work on critical project teams, network with one another and the community, and achieve positive change in Lake County.
What is Leadership Lake County?
Leadership Lake County is a 501(c)3 non-profit service agency that was founded more than 25 years ago to encourage and help train Lake County’s potential adult leaders. Since then, the organization has broadened its scope to help develop leadership among Lake County’s youth and encourage commitment to their community. LLC’s current programs provide high-level, proven leadership training and education to adults, youth and alumni.
Why Leadership Lake County?
Because you benefit, Lake County businesses benefit, non-profit organizations benefit and the entire community is strengthened. LLC programs deliver impassioned new leaders into Lake County each year with the skills and understanding to make positive change and growth possible.
- For you: by the end of your year, you will have identified at least one personal vision or leadership focus that will help your community. You will have learned many skills and practiced them in the sessions, so you will be more confident in your ability to lead. You will have created a network of new leader contacts and built relationships that will last. And you will have made yourself more valuable to your employer and your favorite organizations.
- For employers: stronger leaders can lead to enhanced workplace effectiveness. Graduates also bring with them new networking opportunities that may support creative business solutions. In addition, the connection to Leadership Lake County members and programs adds the potential for community collaboration among sectors and developing shared visions for the economic, political and social future of the County.
- For the Community: LLC classes comprise a large pool of community leaders, sectors, and influential organizations that have the potential to thoroughly address important community issues and move the community forward. This pool is made up of alumni with a deep understanding of Lake County and its strengths and weaknesses. They are prepared to help effect change by serving on boards and task forces.
