About the Program
|
“Leadership Lake
County will provide the tools
and the essential network of
people to allow you to step out
of your box and become a more
active contributor to the
positive future of Lake County.” |
When the program begins in September,
participants unite to form a working
bond that continues through the monthly
sessions.
Using Lake County as a classroom and
our community leaders as the
instructors, class members receive
hands-on, behind the scenes education
about Lake County. Class members work in
teams to plan a program day. They shape
the day based on research and
information gathered at the Opening
Retreat, as well as their interests and
those of their classmates. Each Program
Day contains information and site
visits, which identify Lake County’s
resources and needs.
Leadership Lake County is a member of
the North East Ohio Regional Task Force,
a group of 13 community leadership
programs that share best practices. This
year the task force plans to offer a
Regional Program Day which explores
regional economic drivers and assets.
At
the Year-End Retreat-Graduation
Leadership Lake County summarizes the
year and plans for the future. Without
exception, both the class members and
the community view the Leadership Lake
County Program as a positive experience.
