Opening Retreat- September 2005
The board of trustees is pleased to
announce the selection of an outstanding group of participants for the
2005-2006 adult class which marks the beginning of the organization’s 20th
year.
The LLC Class
of 2006 launched their program year with an opening retreat at Renaissance
Quail Hollow Resort on Friday, September 16. A team of facilitators led by
Dr. Morris Beverage, Jr., president of Lakeland Community College, moved the
class members through exercises which focused on behavior profiles,
mind-mapping, SWOT analysis and emotional intelligence. Class members were
welcomed to the Leadership family by trustees and LLC graduates at an
evening reception.
These current
and emerging community leaders, will participate in a year-long educational
program comprised of a series of learning experiences. The class members
meet monthly with prominent community leaders where they discuss topics
pertaining to Lake County’s needs, assets, critical issues, and challenges.
Upon completion of the program, the graduates are well prepared to assume
key leadership roles on Lake County’s boards, commissions, and task forces.
The Board of
Trustees thanks the community for its continued cooperation and financial
support which has enabled Leadership Lake County to graduate over 600
participants, most of whom are actively involved as volunteers in the county
