6th Grade Program
The Junior Leadership Academy is open to any sixth grade student in Lake County who would like the opportunity to work developing the skills that will aid in academic success during and after high school:
- How to set and achieve a goal related to school/career,
- Effective communication and problem solving skills
- Making smart choices during middle and high school (peer pressure)
- Working well in a group
- Understanding what it takes to be a strong leader
- Learning the importance of giving back to your community
Students meet once a month (Saturday mornings) in December, January, February, March and April, and one full school day in May. The students work in small groups with professional facilitators and successful high school juniors and seniors from the LLC High School Program.

We will follow the policy of Mentor Public Schools for inclement weather.
We will use the I-Alert System to announce a program cancellation due to weather.
